Happy Valentine’s Day!

Posted by R.Rabbit on February 14th, 2008

Happy Valentine’s Day, everybody!  Make sure to grab your special girl or guy (either in the game or outside of it) and give them a big Seal kiss today.  I love this holiday.  Treats, kisses, treats, kisses… who wouldn’t like that?!  I hope you and your in-game partner are celebrating in Seal Online.

Do you all know how Valentine’s Day came to be?  Well if not, here’s a little trivia for you.  In the year 319 A.D., a guy named Valentino decided that he wanted to do something special for his wife, Cupido.  He knew she liked chocolate (back then they just chewed on cocoa beans for the flavor), so he built her a house made out of chocolate.  It had everything she could want — chocolate furniture, chocolate decorations… even the toilet was made out of chocolate!  He presented it to her on February 14th.  She loved it, and told everyone in town about it.  Pretty soon, townspeople were coming from miles away to see this sugary shack.  And boy did Cupido love her house.  I mean LOVE.  She ate from it every day.  And as she ate, she became larger and larger.  She became so large, that she finally couldn’t get out of the darn door.  So she started to eat her way out.  She ate the doorway, and the walls, and as she ate more, she got even larger.  The more she ate the larger she got, and the larger she got, the more she ate.  It was a never-ending cycle!  Finally, Valentino had to do something, before she exploded.  So he fetched his trusty bow and arrow from the garage.  He tearfully told her that this was going to hurt her a lot more than it was going to hurt him, but that he was doing it out of true love.  He didn’t want to see her explode!  So Valentino aimed his bow, drew back the string, and fired a love-filled arrow straight into her backside.  And do you know what happened?  500 pounds of chocolate flew straight out of the hole he pierced.  She flew around the house like a balloon shooting air out of itself.  When Cupido finally landed, she looked into Valentino’s big loving eyes and said, “Honey, you saved me from my horrible fate!  That was one arrow filled with love.”  And they lived happily ever after, the end.

And that, my furless friends, is the real story of Valentine’s Day.  See ya next time!

P.S. OK, so maybe that’s not the real story of Valentine’s Day, but it was fun to write!

You Mecha Me Crazy

Posted by R.Rabbit on February 12th, 2008

Seal Online player Nagisa asks the GMs a question about his favorite armored hobby.

Nagisa: Do any of you like mecha (Gundams and such)? I personally LOVE mecha and I’m wondering if any of you guys like it too. :D

Gaius: I like transformers if that counts! Go decepticons!

Raikiri: I like Gundam.  However, I did not like Evangelion.

Golanu: PATLABOR!!!!

Dimode: Yes, I enjoy watching anime with mecha along with building my own models. My favorite to build were probably the 1/100 Gundam Wing Series (HeavyArms and Shenlong were so fun to build). I really enjoyed the game Armored Core, but absolutely fell in love with Virtua On. As for anime, I favor the Gundam Series and Full Metal Panic.

Qsneazy: I was a fan of Guyver, Robotech, and Escaflowne when watching anime.

Today, Lemonlux has the floor.  His question for the GMs is…

Lemonlux: What are your biggests pet peeves while you all are in game?

Gaius: Hackers. >:[

Golanu: Gold spammers, hackers, and those Moo Moos with red names that used to beat me up when I was younger.

Dimode: When people make fun of or get mad at other players because they choose the play their classes differently than everyone else. People should always build their characters however they want, as long as they are having fun.

Utakata Be Kidding Me

Today, Seal player Utakata poses a couple questions.  A vocal member of the forums community, it’s good to see he’s continuing to extricate (look it up) information from our beloved GMs.

Utakata: Since no one has received one yet - are “fly” pets actually obtainable in eSO? That is to say, a Dryad/Dragon/etc. with even higher stats than normal?

Pinn: Good question. But first, let’s address something serious. The GM Team and I were watching a few fan videos when we came across the one you made. As it turns out, you look exactly like me. People are calling me Utakata. I just thought you’d like to know.

Gaius: Yes, you just have to work towards evolving it to that level. Check out Sealbox.net’s pet guide.

Utakata: Do the Seal Online developers have any fun mini-games in store for the future? I, and I’m sure many others, would love to see games such as Tetra Master in Final Fantasy, or the card battle in Trickster. Something to keep our mind off the grind.

Lokisav: I was unable to find an answer to this but I do know that the English version of Rohan will have mini games in it (hint hint blatant plug for what I’m working on also).

GMs: The Whole Story (part 3 of 3)

Continuing from last week, Seal player Chin has one more question to fire off to our GMs.  Good thing we’re not paying him by the word, we’d be broke!  Hee hee ^^

Chin: What power do you get by being a GM for sealonline?  Please describe both the authorities in-game and in real life, like the fact that you get the power to ban people, check status, spy on gamers, peek at the codings for the game, cheat, make in-game items out of nowhere, superduper warp abilities, check players’ account, etc.

Gaius: In game I have the power to help the good players and punish the bad ones. In real life I get to hang out with people who enjoy video games as much as I do. =)

Raikiri: You get the power to assist players.  As for in real life, you get to keep a secret identity since you are a super hero.

Golanu: Unimaginable powers! Once you feel the power, you can never go back. It can not be described, or seen, but it can be felt by all. (Pretty much everything described in your question minus cheating).

Dimode: I have gained the power to work weekends -_-

Next post, some questions from Utakata.  Until then, stay warm and keep your fur dry!
